Roeien kun je leren. Voor iedereen die graag wil ontdekken of roeien een geschikte sport voor hem of haar is, is er een korte introductiecursus van 7 lessen. Je leert daar de basis van de roeibeweging. We starten dan met oefenmateriaal dat iets meer stabiliteit en zekerheid biedt. Ook maak je kennis met de vereniging, de leden en de activiteiten in ’t Spantje. Na deze korte cursus heb je een beeld van roeien in Eindhoven. Als roeien jouw sport is kun je lid worden van de club. De kosten voor de introductiecursus zijn €70. Je betaalt per machtiging die je ondertekent op het aanmeldformulier.
We organiseren de introductiecursus 2x per jaar, in het vroege voorjaar zodra de klok verzet is naar zomertijd en tegen het eind van de lente/begin zomer. Je roeit dan 2x per week, op zaterdag om 11 uur of 12:30 én op dinsdag- of donderdagavond.
Dagen, data en tijden worden aan het begin van het jaar vastgesteld en kunnen nog wijzigen tot vlak voordat de cursus daadwerkelijk start. Dat heeft te maken met beschikbaarheid van boten en roeiinstructeurs. Daarom delen we ze niet via de website.
Een paar weken voor aanvang van de cursus sturen we een mail uit naar alle mensen die zich ingeschreven hebben en laten dan weten op welke data de cursus plaatsvindt, met verzoek om aan te geven of je wilt deelnemen.
Je kunt je het hele jaar door aanmelden voor de introductiecursus via het aanmeldformulier dat je op deze site kunt vinden via de tab=Vereniging - Lid worden. Zodra we je gegevens hebben ontvangen plaatsen we je op de aanmeldlijst voor de eerstvolgende cursus. Bij meer aanmeldingen dan beschikbare plekken geven we voorrang aan degene die zich het eerst hebben ingeschreven. Per cursus kunnen we maximaal 20 roeiers toelaten, dus wees er snel bij als je mee wilt doen!
Het is goed om je te realiseren dat roeien wel wat tijd van je vraagt. Een les duurt 1,5 uur (op het water), daar komt dan nog tijd voor bij om te verzamelen en samen de boot klaar te maken en naar het water te dragen en tijd na afloop om de boot naar de loods te brengen, schoon te maken en de training na de bespreken. Reken dus op 2 - 2,5 uur per les. Daarnaast is het belangrijk je te realiseren dat je lid wordt van een vereniging. Alle taken binnen de vereniging worden uitgevoerd door de leden zelf. We maken de club met én voor elkaar. Dat betekent dat van iedereen wordt verwacht dat ze een steentje bijdragen. Dat kan op veel verschillende manieren zoals bij de bar, het materiaal onderhoud, instructie en hulp bij evenementen.
Als je besloten hebt om na de introductiecursus lid te worden ga je verder met de beginnersinstructie. Je roeit dan in principe op dezelfde dagen en tijden als tijdens de introductiecursus. Je maakt deel van een groep van ca. 20 - 30 roeiers die 2x per week samen instructie krijgen van een vaste groep instructeurs. Samen ontwikkel je je roeihaal en vind je je plek in de club.
Beatrix kent een examensysteem in drie niveaus. Niveau twee geeft je al de mogelijkheid om zelfstandig op pad te gaan in oefenmateriaal.
Na ongeveer een jaar heb je de benodigde examens behaald en heb je je plek gevonden op de club. Afhankelijk van je ambities kies je voor recreatief roeien of het roeien van wedstrijden. In dat laatste geval kan je nog verder aan techniek en conditie werken onder leiding van een van de verenigingscoaches. Mogelijk vind je het zelf ook leuk om instructeur te worden. In dat geval kan je bij de vereniging of bij de KNRB opleidingen volgen.

You can learn to row. For anyone who would like to discover whether rowing is a suitable sport for him or her, there is a short introductory course of 7 lessons. You will learn the basics of the rowing movement there. We then start with practice material that offers a little more stability and certainty. You will also get to know the association, the members and the activities in 't Spantje. After this short course you will have an idea of rowing in Eindhoven. If rowing is your sport, you can join the club. The costs for the introductory course are €70. You pay with a direct debit authorization that you sign on the registration form.
We organize the introductory course 2x a year, in early spring as soon as the clock has been moved to summer time and towards the end of spring/early summer. You row twice a week, on Saturday at 11 am or 12:30 pm and on Tuesday or Thursday evening.
Days, dates and times are determined at the beginning of the year and can still change until just before the course actually starts. This has to do with the availability of boats and rowing instructors. That is why we do not share them via the website.
A few weeks before the start of the course, we send an email to all people who have registered and then let them know on which dates the course will take place, with a request to indicate whether you want to participate.
You can register for the introductory course throughout the year via the mmebership application form you can find on the page "join the club". As soon as we have received your details, we will place you on the registration list for the next course. If there are more registrations than available places, we will give priority to those who registered first. We can allow a maximum of 20 rowers per course, so be quick if you want to join!
It's good to know that it takes time to learn rowing. A lesson lasts 1.5 hours (on the water), to which is added time to collect and prepare the boat together and to carry it to the water and time afterwards to bring the boat to the shed, clean and discuss the training afterwards. So count on 2 - 2.5 hours per lesson. In addition, it is important to realize that you are becoming a member of an association. All tasks within the association are carried out by the members themselves. We make the club with and for each other. That means everyone is expected to contribute. This can be done in many different ways, such as at the bar, material maintenance, instruction and help with events.
If you have decided to become a member after the introductory course, continue with the beginners instruction. In principle, you row on the same days and times as during the introductory course. You are part of a group of approx. 20 - 30 rowers who receive instruction together from a fixed group of instructors twice a week. Together you develop your rowing stroke and find your place in the club.
Beatrix has an exam system in three levels. Level two already gives you the opportunity to go out on your own in practice material.
After about a year you have passed the necessary exams and you have found your place at the club. Depending on your ambitions, you can opt for recreational rowing or rowing competitions. In the latter case you can continue to work on technique and condition under the guidance of one of the association coaches. You may also enjoy becoming an instructor yourself. In that case you can follow courses at the association or at the KNRB.
