It's over again: the 2025 Winter Race has flown by. Thanks to all the rowers, crews, and clubs for your cheerful presence. We enjoyed it. Congratulations to all the winners. A big thank you also to all the crew: jury, course staff, motorboat crew, starters, finishers, bar crew, race marshal, race management, volunteer coordinator, safety coordinator, set-up crew, dismantlers, photographers, cleaners, registrants, substitutes, and raft dogs. Without you, there's no Winter Race.

After internal discussions, we have decided to proceed with the race for the time being.
The reasons why we, as race organizers, are hesitant are as follows:
The temperature is low, especially the "feels like" temperature.
Rain is expected in block 2.
Long wait times before the start and before mooring.
Tomorrow, before the start of both blocks, we will evaluate whether the situation has worsened and, if necessary, make a new decision.
Measures we are taking to ensure everything goes ahead:
No skiffs in block 2; we will place them in block 1.
The rowing order will be adjusted so that skiffs will go on the water later.
The race starts as soon as everyone (is in order and) has crossed the starting line.
What you need to do/consider:
Absolutly make sure to dress warmly and dryly for the rowing and the long layoff.
Not starting is also a choice.
Update November 21, 19:00h: Due to poor weather forecast (cold), on saturday 14:00h it will be announced if the Race will be cancelled.

The date for the Beatrix WinterRace 2025 is already known, the organising committee has restarted and preparations are ongoing.

This year we will also communicate the "weather traffic light" via the website.
The "weather traffic light" is a visual indicator that is used to indicate the status of a rowing competition based on the prevailing weather conditions at a certain time. It helps to quickly and clearly communicate the situation to participants, coaches and other parties involved.
Red: competition is cancelled / Orange: Pay close attention to the latest information / Green: competition will continue.
19-11: Due to weather forecasts (chance of frost during the weekend), the traffic light has been changed to orange.
